  • 18 holes, par 72, 7,091 yards.

When the architect, Jack Nicklaus, describes an opportunity as his “chance to design his own Pebble Beach,” it’s prudent his efforts and the subsequent outcome follow through. As he famously did throughout his illustrious career, The Golden Bear managed to surpass expectations with Cabo del Sol’s Ocean Course. Garnering praise for having “the finest three finishing holes in golf,” it seems only fitting that this breathtaking 7,091-yard layout has managed to work its way onto the list of the “Top 100 courses in the world” on several occasions.

This par-72 links stretches for more than a mile along a coastline of craggy rock outcroppings and sun-washed shores, offering every visitor a course as scenic as it is demanding. What Nicklaus managed to do so beautifully with his second Signature course in Mexico was utilize the topography of Los Cabos in a way that seamlessly integrated the course into the native land. The Ocean Course is poised against a stunning backdrop that contrasts the emerald fairways and greens, all of which is framed by the indigenous desert landscape comprised of cacti, shrubs, and arroyos.

With seven holes on the ocean, the crashing waves, prevailing breeze, and palm trees serve as daunting natural obstacles one must safely navigate.

Add to that doglegs, meandering waste areas, and notable elevation changes and you are left with a venue that provides the ultimate beauty and playability.
