The Glen Club overview

The East Links of the Glen Golf Club in North Berwick is a prime example of a course that is relatively unknown and hugely underappreciated due to it living in the shadow of a nearby must-play course.

The West Links is literally a couple of drives away and gets all the attention in this area along with Gullane and Muirfield, however we highly recommend visiting The Glen Golf Club too.

Dating back to 1906, It is beautifully manicured with a stunning shoreline clubhouse offering panoramic views over Milsey Bay and Firth of Forth beyond.

The Glen Club Golf Course overview

Due to over-crowding of the nearby West Links, The Glen Club (or the North Berwick Corporation Links Club as it was originally called) was born in 1906 with the James Braid designed East Links open for play in 1908. Stretching along 3 and ½ miles of rugged East Lothian coastline and measuring just over 6300 yards from the tips, the length is not an issue however the change in elevation throughout and clifftop-links mix of holes makes this a really fun challenge.

Signature hole

The 148-yard par-3 13th hole is spectacular, hitting from an elevated tee down to a green hanging on the cliff-edge, it is often regarded as the greatest par-3 in Scottish golf. The 18th is another awe-inspiring hole that runs along the coast back to the clubhouse. Here the elevation drops a hundred feet or more.

Did You Know?

It was not until 1930 that the golf club changed its name from the North Berwick Corporation Links Club to The Glen Golf Club.
