Play at the iconic Home of Golf

If you’ve ever dreamt of crossing the Swilcan Bridge, teeing off towards the R&A clubhouse and striding up the most famous double fairway in golf then it’s time to make the pilgrimage and book a golf package to St. Andrews. Follow in the footsteps of the game’s greats, from Old Tom and Bobby Jones to Jack and Tiger.

There are no less than 7 golf courses at the home of golf, and whilst the Old tends to grab all the attention, we highly recommend spending a week in this magical town and also taking in the New, Jubilee and Castle courses. Within a short drive is also the relatively new but highly-regarded Kingsbarns, and other classics such as Crail and Elie. And if that isn't enough, then venture up the coast 40 minutes and test your game out at Carnoustie, widely-regarded as the most difficult links on The Open rota.

Make your pilgrimage with a St Andrews golf package

Golf in St Andrews centers around the Old Course, which is the oldest and most iconic course in the world. However, as you can imagine it is not easy to get a tee time. As an Authorised Provider and partner of the Links Trust, we can help turn your dream into reality, but times are very limited and need booking at least 12 months in advance.

A really good alternative is to chance it and enter their daily ballot 48 hours prior to the day of play. We can put all other elements of your trip together and help with this easy online process, and chances of getting on are decent (particularly if staying in St Andrews a number of nights and enter the ballot several days in succession).

You can easily spend a week in this magical town, soaking up golfing history and playing unbelievable courses (with or without the Old). We highly recommend playing the New, Jubilee and Castle Courses, which some argue are better golf courses than the Old.

There are also some fantastic options nearby in the Dundee area, including Carnoustie, Panmure, and Monifieth.

What makes a St Andrews golf package so special?

St Andrews is a town that is synonymous with GOLF, and it's no surprise that every golfer in the world has this on their bucket list. The town itself dates back to medieval times, oozing history and charm, with a great vibe and pub/restaurant scene. Accommodation is varied and extensive, although fills up pretty quickly, and the golf courses need no introduction.

Access for international travellers is best through either Edinburgh, which is an hour and fifteen minutes drive, or Glasgow which is a further 30 minutes away.

Our experts say...

Whether it's your first or tenth time to the Home of Golf, it never disappoints. It is where golf and history meet, making it the perfect playground for golf enthusiasts across the globe.

Where to stay & play in St Andrews

In St Andrews, we have multiple accommodation options. Six Murray Park is an outstanding privately run guest house with nine rooms, whilst the three-star Albany and Ardgowan hotels are larger with 22 and 29 rooms respectively. For a step up in luxury we recommend either the Hotel du Vin or Rusacks Hotel. All of these options are centrally located and within walking distance of bars, restaurants, shops, and golf courses.

Our five-star options include the Kinnettles Hotel in town and the hugely popular Fairmont St Andrews Resort, just outside and with two cliff-top courses onsite, or the famous Old Course Hotel which overlooks the renowned 17th 'Road Hole' of the Old Course.
