  • 18 holes, par 68, 6066 yards. Heathland.

The King’s Golf Course at Gleneagles, which was opened in 1919, is a masterpiece of course design. Host of eight Scottish Opens in the past, the Kings Golf Course exudes quality and is a stern test for golfers of all abilities. James Braid designed the course to be a tough test of even the best players’ shot-making and creativity and the King’s certainly lives up to that reputation. Throughout the 18 holes you’ll be treated to well-maintained fairways, tightly clipped greens and stunning views.

The land has some considerable hills and hollows that lead to a few blind shots and tricky approaches. While a tough test, there are a few shorter par-4s so birdie chances are there for the taking for those who are dialled in with their approach shots and have mastered the greens. The King’s is a beautiful golf course that encapsulates all that is bright and bonny about this Scottish golf retreat – a must play on your Scottish golf vacation!
