Golf in Southern Pines

You’d be forgiven for thinking that golf in this area is all about the 9 courses at Pinehurst Resort. But a short drive away you’ll find two more Donald Ross masterpieces.

Pine Needles has been likened to No.2 and has played host to 3 Women’s US Open Championships, and with a charming onsite lodge, is the perfect spot to stay and play during your North Carolina vacation.

Literally across the road is the majestic Mid Pines course and Mid Pines Inn, which is a beautiful Georgian-style hotel oozing Southern hospitality. Not too far away is the Mike Strantz designed Tobacco Road, which regularly features high up in course rankings.

Add in the New Course at Talamore and the Mid South Club, and you have a truly memorable collection of golf courses that comfortably match up to any of the Pinehurst Resort courses.
