  • Widely regarded as the most difficult course in southeastern Mexico, Hard Rock Golf Club, is a superb 18-hole venue that stretches to 7,144 yards from the championship tees. Designed by Robert von Hagge, the course meanders - much like many of the other courses within the area -throughout the local jungle, snaking through vast expanses of native mangroves, cenotes, and archaeological vestige. The lush foliage of the Yucatan Peninsula makes this course not only beautiful and aesthetically pleasing, but also demanding and challenging.

Riviera Maya Golf Club is much more than a flawless 27-hole track. It presents its visitors with achallenging yet enjoyable layout that synergizes between the Mayan Jungle, natural lakes, and cenotes. Ideally situated in the heart of Quintana Roo, the course is surrounded by stunning natural beauty, exotic wildlife, and ancient Mayan ruins.

The truly stunning El Camaleón Golf Course at Mayakoba is widely known for hosting the OHL Classic over the last 10 years. A sanctioned PGA Tour event won most recently by Pat Perez, this magnificent track is another Greg Norman masterpiece. The course navigates through thick Mexican mangrovejungles, limestone canals, and breathtaking oceanfront stretches to offer every visitor the perfect blend of visual and golfing beauty.

  • Flights
Flights are frequent and direct from many major US hubs to Cancun International airport (CUN).

    Timings
Due to its easterly location Cancun is on EST all year-round.

    Language
Whilst Spanish is the national language in Mexico, English is widely used, particularly within resorts and the golf courses.

    Currency
Although Mexico Pesos (MEX$) are the official currency, US Dollars are also widely used and accepted in the majority of resorts, bars, restaurants and courses.

    Access
US & Canadian citizens can travel freely to Mexico on their own country’s passports. Visas are not required, unless a stay is exceeding 180 days.  There is a departure tax of 1040 pesos per person (approximately US$50) which is paid in cash at the airport. Some airlines include this charge in the price of the ticket and it is worth checking this pre-travel.

    The Weather
The temperature in the Cancun and Playa del Carmen region is perfect for golf all year round.  January has the coolest average temperature at 23 degrees Celsius with May to September the hottest period averaging 28 degrees.  The winters are typically dry with rain more likely through the summer and autumn.  However the rain will occur in brief downpours that pass quickly and certainly won’t interrupt a day’s play.

The Golf - Caddies and Carts
The carts are the norm at 90% of the courses in the Cancun and Playa del Carmen and are generally included as part of the green fee. Caddies can usually be pre-booked given plenty of notice. Please ask your sales agent for details when booking your vacation.

    The Golf - Practice Facilities
The majority of resorts in Cancun and Playa del Carmen feature world-class practice facilities, similar to those available in the US. Take advantage of these amazing facilities before you head out onto the course to ensure you're on top of your game plus, they are usually included in your greens fee.

The Golf - Halfway Houses and Beverage Carts
Halfway houses are a main feature at the majority of resorts and courses, serving up hot/cold food, light snacks and refreshments. Beverage carts are also common circling the course. At some of our all-inclusive resorts the on-course food and drink is all part of the package - please ask for details when booking your vacation.

    The Golf - Handicap restrictions
Many of the golf courses have handicap restrictions for visiting golfers and may require to see official proof of your handicap. The primary reason for this is to ensure only seasoned golfers visit these courses and don't hold up play.
