What makes a golf package in Wales so special?

Golf in Wales is golf as it should be — offering unspoiled landscapes, breathtaking vistas, and a friendly welcome wherever you go. You will no doubt recognize many of its famous courses as well as be astounded by the quality of golf and the great value that can be found in the Principality.

Former Walker Cup venue Royal Porthcawl – host of the 2014 and 2017 Senior Open Championships – is as good as any links you care to mention, and with legendary tracks like Royal St Davids, Nefyn and Pennard lying in wait for the visiting golfer there’s no shortage of seaside golf in this wonderfully scenic land. And that’s saying nothing of the ever-popular Celtic Manor, where you’ll find the mighty Twenty Ten Ryder Cup layout.

Wales is the hidden gem of UK golf

Scotland and Ireland tend to get all the attention from visiting golfers to the British Isles, which really doesn't give justice to the world-class courses that Wales has to offer. With less crowds, lower prices, authentic courses and wonderful people, Wales Tourism quite rightly refers to golf in Wales as 'Golf as it should be'.

There are two primary golfing regions in Wales, along the south Bristol Channel coast and around the north west corner, close to Snowdonia National Park. International access is best through London for the south region of Wales (or perhaps connect into Cardiff Airport), whilst entry into the UK through Manchester may be better for the north west region.

Things to see & do

From the awe-inspiring scenery to the endless list of incredible activities, Wales is a beautiful country famous for its rugged mountains, national parks and Celtic culture. We recommend taking a trip to Snowdonia National Park which boasts plenty of hiking trails, beautiful lakes and glacial landforms.

Cardiff is a must-visit with its great nightlife scene, National Museum and medieval castle. Those looking for hidden gems should take a trip to the Hafod Estate or Devil’s Bridge Falls, both of which are recognized as places of outstanding national beauty.
