Despite its name, Hilton Head National Golf Club is situated just before you cross the Karl Bowers Bridge to reach Hilton Head Island in an area called Bluffton, making it an excellent course for a round on arrival or day of departure.
Hilton Head National prides itself on being one of the area’s best golf clubs, presenting a perfectly balanced golf course which is complemented by fantastic on- and off-course facilities. Before the round, guests can make use of all the club’s facilities. The spacious practice range is perfect for warming up and the putting green is excellent for getting to grips with the pace of the greens. The onsite pro shop is fully stocked with all the golfing essentials you may need during your day.
Pre or post-golf, The Player’s Pub is ready and waiting to welcome you with a wide range of great food choices, all of which are fresh and locally sourced, and an excellent selection of beverages to choose from.
Hilton Head National Golf Course overview
Hilton Head National Golf Club is a pleasure to play and represents an excellent challenge for golfers of all abilities. Measuring in at 6730 yards, the course is the brainchild of Hall of Famer Gary Player and renowned architect Bobby Weed who designed the course to be the purest test of golf, requiring every club in the bag to score well.
The course is a classic example of South Carolina golf; plenty of water (several alligators!), strategically placed bunkers, tree-lined fairways, and the occasional gust of wind coming in off the Atlantic. Hilton Head National has received many accolades over the years and it remains a favorite among those who visit the area.
Signature Holes
The 6th hole at Hilton Head National is a real treat to play. Measuring only 298 yards from the back tee, this par-4 is the ultimate risk vs. reward hole with a huge water hazard guarding the entire right side. The green can be driven, yet a right-to-left ball flight is required and with bunkers left and water to the right, it needs to be the perfect tee-shot.
