The Portmarnock Golf Links was designed by legendary golf professional Bernhard Langer, who made full use of the stunning 180-acre natural landscape he had at his disposal. Opened for play in 1996, the Links course borders the famous Portmarnock Golf Club, although both courses are separately run. Portmarnock has hosted a list of amateur and professional events – these include the 2008 and 2009 Ladies Irish Open, Southern Region PGA and Big Break Ireland.

Portmarnock blends the traditions of links golf along with the challenges of the modern game. For such a new course, it is very natural and simple - a testament to Langer’s astute layout and design. The course is known for its typical links sea breeze, tricky pot bunkers, its elevated tees and greens, not to mention its many blind approach shots and doglegs. All of these course characteristics combine to create a very exciting and challenging round of golf, an excellent venue for a golf vacation to Ireland.

We recommend that you book your tee time prior to travelling to Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links. If the golf course is too busy then there is a chance that you could get paired up with another group; however the club will try to avoid this whenever possible.
