Europa Hotel overview

Dating back to 1971 and built on the site of the Great Northern Railway Station, the Europa Hotel became the hang-out for journalists worldwide during the troubles in Northern Ireland. Since peacetime and a major refurbishment in 1993, the hotel has welcomed VIPs from across the globe including the Clintons in 1995, with the Clinton Suite being renamed after them.

The towering hotel is a city landmark and natural meeting place due to its central location, and the perfect base for a Northern Ireland golf tour.

Golf Courses

Our closest recommended courses to the city are Holywood, where Rory McIlroy learnt to play, and Royal Belfast, which is the oldest golf club in Ireland.

Less than an hour to the south are Royal County Down and Ardglass, and just over an hour to the north are Royal Portrush, Portstewart and Castlerock. Make Belfast your base and you can hit all of these without having to move hotels.

Accommodation

The hotel has 272 guestrooms that include 1 Presidential Suite, 5 Junior Suites and 92 Executive bedrooms. All are welcoming and offer a combination of style and functionality, with some having fabulous views overlooking Great Victoria Street and the inner hub of the city.

Restaurant & Bars

The main restaurant at the Europa Hotel is the Causerie, which is located on the 1st floor looking out over Great Victoria Street. The Lobby Bar is full of character and charm, located at the front of the hotel and the perfect place to relax with a drink and enjoy some live music.

The Piano Lounge is the place for afternoon tea or evening cocktails, and through its expression of elegance and charm, reflects the Europa’s history perfectly. Menus are served throughout the day, with chefs using the finest locally sourced ingredients.

Location

Belfast is the capital city of Northern Ireland and a wonderful place to base yourself if wanting to play the likes of Royal Portrush, Royal County Down, Ardglass and Portstewart without the inconvenience of having to move hotels. The Europa Hotel is in the heart of the city and just 30 minutes from Belfast International Airport.

Nearby

There is a lot to see and do in Belfast with the Titanic Museum, Crumlin Road Gaol and Botanic Gardens some of the favorites. Taking in an opera, show or musical at the Grand Opera House is also well worth including in your visit.
