Rusacks Hotel overview

The Rusacks Hotel has recently undergone a tasteful remodelling with golf very much the central theme, embracing its history as a key part of the golf scene in St Andrews; particularly with its location overlooking arguably the world’s most famous golf course. This includes the Austen Gallery – a shrine to golf with portraits of some of the greats of the game adorning the walls. Guests even have access to a golf concierge to assist with any golf-related queries they may have.

Now a 5-star hotel, it oozes elegance and has a traditional charm, in keeping with its history and location. Guests have a couple of dining options within the hotel as well as the luxury of being able to walk to all St Andrews has to offer in just a matter of minutes.

Golf Courses

Golf is intrinsically linked with The Rusacks, due mostly to its position overlooking the Old Course. With St Andrews a golfing mecca, it means you have several courses within walking distance of the hotel including the likes of the Links Trust’s Jubilee Course and New Course.

Other big names such as Kingsbarns Golf Links and Carnoustie Golf Links are within easy driving distance of the property as well as some of the hidden gems in Fife such as Crail Golfing Society and Leven Links.

Accommodation

Guests of The Rusacks Hotel will have several room types to consider, from the entry level Classic Rooms through to Executive and Feature Rooms which offer excellent views across the St Andrews Old Course.

Junior Suites and Senior Suites (suitable for families) are also available which as well as the Old Course, provide views out towards West Sands Beach.

There are 120 rooms in total, all furnished to a high standard with fantastic ensuite bathrooms including a walk-in shower. The rooms all come with free Wi-Fi, tea/coffee making facilities and flat-screen TV’s.

Restaurant & Bars

The Rusacks Hotel has recently added the Surf & Turf Restaurant to its dining options. The ethos of this restaurant is simple meat or fish dishes using locally sourced ingredients. This adds to the existing choices which include the One Under Gastro Pub, a great place for a hearty meal and a place to watch golf or other major sporting fixtures.

In terms of bars, there are two to choose from, The Gin Bar which offers superb views over the Old Course and out to West Sands Beach, a wonderful place to relax with a cocktail. The other is the R Bar, an elegant place to sit with your favorite whisky in the evening or to take a light lunch during the day.

Location

The Rusacks Hotel has a prime position directly adjacent to the 18th hole of the Old Course in St Andrews on the east coast of Scotland. Just a few minutes’ walk from the center of St Andrews, guests of The Rusacks are within touching distance of everything the town has to offer.

For international access, we recommend either Edinburgh Airport which is 1 hour 20 minutes’ drive away or Glasgow Airport which is just under two hours.
