Scotscraig was founded in 1817, making it the 13th oldest golf club in the world and is only a short drive from the ‘Home of Golf’ St Andrews. Scotscraig Golf Course was redesigned by the celebrated golf course architect James Braid in 1923, which has ensured the longevity of this fine layout. The challenges of Scotscraig include rolling greens, heather lined fairways and strategically positioned bunkers. Scotscraig Golf Course is used as one of a number of venues for Final Qualifying when The Open Championship is held at St Andrews, which gives an indication of how superb the course here is.

Considered within the top 100 golf courses in Scotland, Scotscraig Golf Course is a real delight but is a challenge that requires accuracy from start to finish. Memorable holes include the 4th which features a fairway lined with bunkers, before an approach to a well-guarded green and the 14th, a long par 5 which requires three precise shots to a protected green. The club at Scotscraig is full of character and golfers looking for a truly Scottish golf vacation should certainly consider a visit.
