  • 18 holes, par 69, 5847 yards. Links.

Located on the Cambrian Coast, Snowdonia, and opened for play in 1908, Abersoch Golf Club is a tremendous links course which also encapsulates some parkland characteristics. Sitting at under 6,000 yards, this course is short by modern standards, but do not let this fool you as it provides a stern challenge for even the lower handicappers.

The golf course itself is an excellent links with undulating sand dunes which you would expect to find at courses like County Down and Royal Birkdale. If the large sand dunes aren’t enough to intimidate you then the tight fairways, enticing water hazards and sloping greens may be a cause for concern.

There are a number of memorable holes at Abersoch. The signature par 3, 3rd hole plays off of an elevated tee which requires a precise downhill drive over gorse and water towards an undulating, and bunker strewn green. If you can score well on 2, 3, 7, 11 and 17 then you have a great chance of handing in a good scorecard, despite the jeopardy of some of the more difficult holes.
